The NaNoWriMo 2023
Diary of an author 04
Hello, writing person. The days are getting shorter, the winds are blowing colder (it even snowed yesterday), and NaNoWriMo is slowly coming to an end. As in every year, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) takes place in November - many writers come together in communities for co-working or write alone. The goal is to write 50,000 words in a month, with each person able to set their own target.
Last year, I trained myself to set a daily writing goal through this month - this year, my NaNoWriMo looked a bit different, because although I have countless projects in my head that want to be written and brought into the world, one has clear priority this year: my debut. Now I can finally write it officially: at the beginning of next year (2024), my first novel will be published, and I can't even describe how much I'm looking forward to it. Even though it admittedly still seems quite abstract, since I don't have the book in my hands yet.
November was thus filled with editing, feedback, typesetting, and cover design, because apart from the editing and proofreading, I create the entire essence of the book myself - as a communication designer and writer, I can hardly imagine anything more beautiful. … And yet another long-awaited project will soon be set in motion, because after reopening the writing mentoring program after the break, the desire arose in me to share and pass on my accumulated knowledge from 13 years of writing, so I have not only created a Discord server for exchanging ideas with like-minded writing people, but I am also planning a members' area on this website, where you will be guided word by word to your first (or next) novel. In the process, you can express yourself freely and simply take the knowledge and tips that suit you and your writing style.
I am very much looking forward to and excited about the development and am curious about what we will create. Until the next post, I wish you a wonderful time.
